Lesson Activity Part 2 – Group Presentation Activity using Powtoon
Following on from Part 1 Research Activity on Diigo, instruct learners to make a digital presentation on their subtopic.
Step 1
Learners in the same group can use the same content, however they must use a different digital tool to create the presentation. Encourage students to use different features and be creative with multimedia options (images, sound, video).
Step 2
Instruct learners to sign up to one of the following tools to create their digital presentation:
Ted Ed- TED: Ideas worth spreading
Powtoon- https://www.powtoon.com/account/signup/ (only use the free version)
Nearpod- https://nearpod.com/signup/
Canva- Collaborate & Create Amazing Graphic Design for Free (canva.com)
Adobe Spark- Make Images, Videos and Web Stories for Free in Minutes | Adobe Spark
Step 3
Set learners a set date for the presentations to start. Instruct learners that their peers will vote on the best presentation.
Step 4
Set up a Poll to invite learners to vote for their favourite presentation.
- Go to Nearpod and Sign up using google or free account: https://nearpod.com/signup/
- Click “Create a lesson”
- Select “Add new +”, there are 2 tabs titled “content” and activities”. Here click “activities” under which select the poll option.
- In the poll, ask learners to vote for their favourite presentation, list the names of the students below.
Step 5
Ask students for feedback on the activity. If they enjoyed using the tool, how easy or difficult it was.
