Activity: Tiktok your next topic!
Tiktok is one of the fastest trending social technologies.
The short snappy videos are so engaging for mobile learning!
Here is an example of a tiktok being used :
TASK:
Make a tiktok for your next learning topic
How to:
Download the Tiktok App to your phone (go to your devices App store)
Once downloaded to your device, sign up using an email address. You will be asked for a user name as well.
Take time to get to know the app. Browse some videos. Or in the search bar, type in “Tiktok education” and get inspired by other educators using Tiktok.
Now create your own Tiktok, click the button along the bottom of the screen (looks like a white “+” symbol within a black circle)
Videos can be between 30 sec to 3 minutes long
You can pre record videos on your own mobile device, then upload these videos. Multiple videos and images can be uploaded at once. This will then generate into one full video.
Use the available features to edit the video. For example, you can add a voice over effect to the video, you can add music, filters and more.
Once you are happy with your result, you can publish to tiktok.
If you are concerned with the video been visible by public, you can adjust your privacy option to only allow your followers to view your Tiktoks.
Share the video link with students
Gauge feedback from learners, find out if they thought it was useful and engaging.
Remember this task is all about building your confidence! And mastering an app that is used all around the world by digital natives should certainly be something to be proud of!
